Originating from the Rio Negro region near Santa Isabel do Rio Negro, Brazil, this fish is famous for its extremely tall body, elongated fins, and striking vertical barring.
Although often referred to as an "Altum," the Santa Isabel is technically a naturally occurring form of Pterophyllum scalare. It displays many characteristics similar to true Altum Angelfish, including a taller profile, longer finnage, and a majestic appearance that makes it a centerpiece in any aquarium.
